This Week I….

Hey there, how’s things?

I’m slightly hungover today after an exciting afternoon drinking Mulled Wine yesterday, but that’s ok, because although I’m working this morning, I have nothing to do all afternoon except nap and watch Netflix. We’re currently watching Schitt’s Creek, which is very enjoyable, but I’ve spotted there’s a Christmas series of Nailed It so I’m looking forward to that too!

The week just gone has actually been mostly uneventful, I say mostly, I did set fire to myself, but more on that later.

This week I…..

Had a Disappointing Lunch

On Sunday we went to Sainsburys. I know, exciting stuff.

There was a double points weekend on Nectar cards so we cashed all ours in to spend on wine.

While we were there we thought we’d have lunch in their cafe. We spent quite some time perusing the menu and I decided on Macaroni Cheese. Except when we got to the till apparently there was no Macaroni Cheese and none of a whole list of other things either.

Now I felt flustered and rushed to choose something else and ended up ordering a veggie sausage baguette, that I immediately knew I didn’t really want.

It literally couldn’t have been a more disappointing meal. Mr LLL had a huge steaming hot pie with mounds of mashed potato and peas.

I had 2 sausages stuffed in a roll so crusty it hurt my mouth.

But we did then get 12 basically free bottles of wine, so that’s ok.

Signed up for Strava

I’ve been running for 7 years and never bothered signing up for Strava. Apparently everyone else in the world is signed up for it, so I thought I’d give it a go as it syncs with my Fitbit.

I am now obsessed with checking the stats for my runs and trying to beat my previous time on segments.

Obsessed.

Had an Anniversary

Not a wedding anniversary this time, a self employment anniversary.

This week marked 12 years since I walked out on my job and went self employed.

I’ve talked about why I quit before if you haven’t read it.

In the last 12 years I’ve been a vintage clothing seller, a writer, model, make-up artist and historian, costume designer, events manager, web designer, social media manager, virtual assistant, personal trainer and alleged “influencer”. I’ve never had a plan and I’m still getting by!

Who knows what I’ll be doing in another 12 years?

Set Fire to Myself

In less fun news this week I nearly became a cautionary tale.

I lit a candle using a match in the bathroom. Shook the match to put it out and then looked at the sleeve of my dressing gown to see flames spreading up it. In a split second I had a vision of myself bursting into flame, smacked at my sleeve and just as quickly as they’d arrived the flames all disappeared leaving just a smell of slightly singed dressing gown.

The dressing gown doesn’t even look burnt, it was very odd indeed, I have no idea how it happened, I can only assume that a flame from the match as I shook it caught a loose thread or something. I guess if you are going to set fire to yourself then standing next to a bath full of water is the best place to do it.

Had My First Christmas Coffee

It was a Starbucks gingerbread latte and I didn’t even take a photo of it.

What is wrong with me?

Drank a lot of Mulled Wine

We went to a craft fair, but there was a Prosecco van, and Mulled Wine on the market and then the pub sold Mulled Cider and today I’m feeling a little delicate, but I did have a lovely evening sat by the fire in the Pub with the Pugs so it was totally worth it.

I might be starting to get a little tiny twinkling of festive spirit. Just a tiny one.

And that was another week in my life.

How was your week?
