#Janathon Day 24 – Running in the Rain

Well, I really know how to pick my days to go for a run rather than the nice cosy gym don’t I?

The weather today is pretty horrible, so horrible that I’m anticipating a bit of a battle to get my super fussy Pugs out of the door when it comes to Walkies time.

Actually, it’s not just my days I know how to pick, it’s my times.

Normally I would have gone for a run first thing in the morning before I started work, but this morning we decided to go out for breakfast instead (we were hoping to get a freebie at Ed’s Easy Diner, but we were number 54 and 55 in the queue for 50 free breakfasts!). So I walked into the City in this mornings pleasant, mild, if a little-overcast weather, then, when I decided to go for a lunchtime run, it absolutely bucketed it down.

Today, at least, I had company in my rainy misery, as Mr LLL was coming for a short run with me.

Mr LLL has been off running for a while with knee problems, but has foolishly signed up for another Half Marathon in April, so needs to get back on the horse and step up his rehab.

Instead of my normal hill filled route we headed off to a nice flat run to test out his knee and earn me 500 TomTom Fitness points. We never run together as Mr LLL is faster than me, or at least gets less bored being uncomfortable than I do, so it was actually quite pleasant to have company.

We went at a pace which was fairly fast-ish for me, and probably absurdly slow for Mr LLL, but at least it meant he didn’t push it on his first time out.

500 points achieved we took our soggy selves home again to eat toast and drink tea. As it should be on a rainy Wednesday afternoon.

Oh, and also do some stretches, because I have learned my lesson, oh yes. At least for now.
