Well! You remember back in April I told you about Norwich Cocktail Week?

No? Well that’s ok because I shall tell you about it again as it’s now only a month away and we’ve been spending the last 4 months working hard on making it as awesome as we can!

Various cities around the country have Cocktail Weeks. London, Bristol, Leeds and Newcastle, for instance, and, well, I thought Norwich deserved one as well! A few years ago there were very few places in Norwich making good cocktails, but it’s really exploded over the last couple of years, and now we have so many places to choose making tasty and original cocktails.

The basic idea of Norwich Cocktail Week is that you get yourself a wristband, and that wristband entitles you to discounts and special offers in bars across the City.

It runs from 4th-10th October, so it’s only a month away now, and I am *super* excited, and maybe just a teeny bit stressed!

We’ve got over 20 bars around Norwich involved in the week offering special offers ranging from 2-4-1 cocktails all night (Happy Hour, what Happy Hour?) to free nibbles to go with your cocktail, as well as half price tickets to tasting events.

The wristbands cost £8, and you can buy them online on our website, or over the bar at several places (find out where here!)

We have teamed up with mobile wallet company Droplet Pay to be able to offer them half price to anyone who uses Droplet to pay for them! I used the app myself to pay for a bottle of Prosecco and some pork scratchings  (I am ALL the class) and it’s actually sort of fun to use and really easy once it’s set up.

So, if you fancy a half price wristband you just have to download the app, go to the shops tab and scroll till you spot Norwich Cocktail Week, and then send us £4 along with your email address in the comments box. All you have to do then is pop into The Birdcage between 4-7pm any day during Cocktail Week and pick it up from us! There’s quite a few bars on the list that take Droplet to pay for your drinks as well, so you can take it on a little test run once you have your wristband!

Actually, once you’ve picked up your wristband you can stick around in The Birdcage and use it to pay for one of their Cocktail Week specials. The Harajuku Girl, made with vanilla vodka, chambord liqueur, caramel syrup, grenadine and milk served over ice in a milk bottle decorated with hundreds and thousands around the top and finished with a stripy straw. Yes please!

The Friday before Cocktail Week starts we are having a launch party. People who bought tickets through our Indiegogo campaign will be there, but after that it’s invite only as we are inviting representatives from the bars (they won’t be busy Friday night, right?)

So, if you want a ticket, this is your last chance! The party will be held at Farmer Browns in Norwich on the evening of 3rd October 2014, so don’t enter unless you can make it along! The winner will get a pair of tickets for our launch party, plus a pair of cocktail week wristbands and a £5 voucher to spend on Droplet Pay. There’s no minimum to add to the app, so that could equate to a free cocktail depending on what offers the bars are running!

To enter, just follow the instructions on the rafflecopter widget, you’ve got 4 options to enter, and 4 chances to win! The winner will be picked in one week!
