This Week I….

Happy Easter!

I hope you’re all having a lovely chocolate filled day? Easter, like Christmas, is one of those days when all normal rules are suspended. Enjoy a huge roast dinner and a chocolate egg and call it a healthy balanced diet. Because that’s exactly what it is. M’kay?

I am cooking a lovely roast dinner this afternoon AND making trifle, so lets see how that goes shall we?

I might actually spend the rest of the afternoon asleep, becuase I’ve been utterly exhausted this week. I don’t know if it’s the clocks changing, my new medication or what, but I mostly feel like I can barely keep my eyes open.

But before my nap, this week I…..

Accidentally had to eat a takeaway

I know, right, how careless of me.

The clocks going forwards always completely throws me, so last Sunday was tricky for me. We got up too late, took the Pugs out too late and ate lunch late.

So we took them out for an evening walk a bit late too. Then we stopped for a drink and before we knew it was suddenly 9:45 and there was no way I could be bothered to cook that delicious and healthy dinner I had planned, so we stopped in the conveniently placed chinese takeaway on the way home.

Ooops, what a shame.

Picked up our stricken car

If you saw last weeks post then you’ll know that our car is basically a dickhead.

It finished last week in a garage for the second time in under a week having a new tyre and coil spring, and on Tuesday we had to get on a train out to Wroxham to pick it up.

It was actually considerably less expensive than I expected, and the tyre/coil spring incident has only left us £200 less rich, which is considerably less than the exhaust falling off cost us.

Now, if the car could stay in one piece for a few more months I’d be super grateful, k’thnx.

I did not take any photos of the exciting garage, but on the way home we did stop at a brewery and buy some beer that we drank later.

Saw some controversial art

Damien Hirsts sculpture Hymn is currently on display outside the Norwich University of the Arts, which means I get to walk past it every time I go to the gym.

It’s proved to be quite controversial. I’m not really sure why. Some people like it, some people don’t. Some people like to complain about how the money should be being used to fix roads.

I just think it’s a very big version of one of those anatomy dolls that all the bits come out of. And I’m not the only one.

Got trapped under the Pugs

I mean, they are TOTALLY IMPOSSIBLE to escape from, right?

Is this one of the advantages or disadvantages of self-employment, I’m not sure. All I know is that I got very little work done on Wednesday morning because we came back from our walk, and I sat on the sofa, and then this happened.

They looked so comfortable, and I was so, so tired, so I tried to work one handed with my laptop next to me, but, lets face it. Nothing much got done that morning.

It was awesome.

Got new running shoes

Remember last week I discovered that there was a hole in my running shoes that I had inexplicably failed to notice until I could actually feel the pavement through it?

Well, this week I got new ones. Actually I got 2 pairs of new ones. I normally stick with the New Balance 880, because I know they suit me and I have had problems with shoes giving me random foot and leg pains before. But they were a bit pricy, so I attempted to save £15 by ordering another style. When they arrived they looked really cool, but they were slightly too small, and I didn’t really like how they felt. So I gave in and ordered the 880s.

Except that now I have had to pay 2 lots of postage on the shoes, plus pay postage to return them, so they were actually about £15 more expensive than if I’d just bought them in the first place rather than trying to save money.

I literally NEVER LEARN.

I also didn’t take a photo of them, I took a boomerang, but I can’t post that here. They’re these ones if you’re interested, they actually quite a lovely duck egg blue.

Went out for lunch

Because it makes a change from going out for cake, and it wouldn’t be a This Week I without a photo of some food.

I had a jacket potato in Wetherspoons. It was very nice.

Met ALL THE PUGS

I’m in a Pugs of Norwich group on Facebook, and they occasionally have meet ups.

I’ve never been to one before, but this morning we decided to pop along as we were walking the Pugs anyway.

Honestly it was a bit overwhelming. THERE WERE SO MANY PUGS!

Plus this one was dressed as an Easter Bunny, which was adorable.

And that was another fun-packed, non-stop, super-exciting week in my life.

How was your week?
