You Are My Candy Girl

It might still be snowing, but in between the downpours and freezing temperatures there’s a little feeling of spring in the air.

I can hear birds singing, London Fashion Week is about to demand I start looking at clothing for next winter, and I therefore feel a little bit ready to start thinking about Spring Summer 2010.

There’s some gorgeous girly shades around this season, plus, of course with *shh* Valentines Day approaching that lovely romantic mood comes into season early.

I’m quite keen to crowbar a few candy colours into my wardrobe, maybe just little touches. A pale peach pair of tights, maybe, or a spearmint green cardigan.

(L-R Luella (*sob*) Christian Dior, Burberry Prorsum)

I’m thinking colours in their most non colour form. Pinks, blues and greens so pale they’re almost neutrals in their own right. Not a headache inducing indigestion remedy pink.

Lace Slip Dress, £57 Topshop, Summer Green Box Crop Cardigan £38 Oasis, Little Sweetie Skirt, £38 Modcloth, Elle Opaque Tights – £5 Sockshop, Satin Lace Up Court, £20 New Look, OPI Nail Polish Coney Island Cotton Candy£8.79 Amazon, Broderie Bow Top £40 Warehouse

These are my favourite high street picks. I’m particularly taken with the new look shoes, feminine and  smart enough for an evening out, but with a nice practical shape and at a price where I won’t mind too much if I step in a big puddle.

So I’ll sit, and I’ll plan, and I’ll scour the charity shops for candy colours, while I wait for the weather to catch up with my fashion urges.

  1. I am very fond of some S/S 10 trends as well. But I am on the same page, I’d rather hunt the charity shops for some pastels that are not so obviously fashionable. Good picks from High Street though!

  4. That Dior dress is stunning! I just realized that I never gravitate towards these colors, but they are so pretty

  5. I definitly am going to try to incorporate some ‘softer’ colours into my wardrobe. I particularly like the Dior selection because the look is so soft, but then those bold red lips add such awesome contrast to the look. I particularly like that the softer palette seems to always offer great textures, like the lace bits and sheer layers, etc..

  7. Those pale colours are very vintage-y as well. Dying with anticipation to come to LFW and take in all that London style!
