The 12 Days of Christmas Giveaway!

Ho Ho Ho! Merry Christmas!

It’s that time of year again, that I try and come up with something lovely to give you for Christmas. As ever, I’m not actually Santa, regardless of what it may look like in my fancy Christmas header, and without an army of elves at my beck and call I can’t give everyone a present.

So instead I have Christmas stocking stuffed with goodies to give away to one of you. This year I’ve called it the 12 days of Christmas giveaway as it will run for 12 days, which should give me time to get it in the post to get to you before Christmas. This years stocking also contains 12 gifts. In order to build up that sense of Christmas excitement and anticipation I’ve decided not to tell you what they all are in advance, and instead I’m going to reveal one each day!

Todays prize is courtesy of Artificial Eye and is a little parcel of goodies from the new film The Deep Blue Sea.

The film is set in post war Britain and stars Rachel Weisz as the privileged wife of a High Court Judge who falls madly in love with an ex-RAF pilot. It looks rather marvellously atmospheric, you can watch the trailer and get all the details over on the Artificial Eye website.

The goodies they’ve given to go in your Christmas Stocking on Day One are:

A Greatest Wartime Memories CD

A Copy of the Playscript from the film

A Film Poster

Now, pay attention, because I’m about to tell you how you can enter!

  • I will reveal a new prize each day, and at the end of 12 days one winner will be selected from all entries!
  • You can enter the competition every day, for more chances to win.
  • Any comment, on any post, for the next 12 days will be included in the prize draw (unless you ask to be excluded)
  • Some days there will be extra opportunities to win, so keep your eyes peeled!

I shall keep it simple today, all you have to do for your very first entry is to leave a comment on this post.

Have you seen Deep Blue Sea?

Are you planning to see it?

Have you read the book and is it any good? (UPDATE: Pfft! I saw it was an adaptation and assumed book. It’s not, it’s adapted from a play. Have you seen it!?)

Click on the pictures below to visit each days gift as they’re revelaed and get extra entries into the prize draw!

Deep Blue Sea Goodies Aspire Style Diamante & Pearl Brooch Water Bottle Accessory Freaks petal earrings Faux Fur Stole seamed stockings gold bag vodka napkins lipstick

The 12 days of Christmas Giveaway will end at midnight on 16th December 2011
The winner will be notified by email and has 48 hours to respond with delivery details
before a new winner will be drawn
A winner will be drawn at random from all eligible entries
The editors decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into
The competition is open to the UK only due to postage costs.
Over 18s only please!

  1. I have not seen it, but I shall look out for it. I’m more likely to watch that sort of thing than read it. I don’t read romances, although I did go out and buy the book of The English Patient after seeing the film. I preferred the film!

I’m definitely planning on seeing this one, saw some reviews and looks worth seeing.

  3. Not yet, probably on DVD, not yet but will download it for my new kindle after Christmas!

Good luck everyone & merry Christmas!

  4. Haven’t seen Deep Blue Sea yet but really want to, looks really good, as does this competition – great idea!

  5. Have you seen Deep Blue Sea? No
Are you planning to see it? I rather fancy seeing it now ๐Ÿ™‚
Have you read the book and is it any good? No

  6. that looks like a great film! I will have to find a friend to take though, I’m not sure I could convince the Mr. to go with me! Can’t wait to see tomorrow’s prize! x

  7. I haven’t seen it but I really want to. I didn’t actually know there was a book. I’d probably rather read than watch!

  8. awesome giveaway dear! I want to enter! ๐Ÿ™‚

    xxx

  9. I haven’t seen it yet but i’m looking forward to it!I haven’t read the book as well but it seems interesting!

  10. Oooh, exciting! I haven’t seen this yet, but I am planning to do so (though I might have to wait till the DVD comes out!).

  11. Haven’t seen it but am intrigued. Count me in for the competition please!

  12. No.
    Will probably rent it.
    No.

To be honest I hadn’t heard of this film/book but you have me intrigued now

  13. Not seen it, but might do, and haven’t read the book. ๐Ÿ™‚

I haven’t seen Deep Blue Sea yet but I’ve read several articles about it. I’d really like to see it at the pictures, but I think financially I’m more likely to wait until it comes out on DVD! The Deep Blue Sea is a play, I don’t know if that’s what you meant by book but I think I’d rather watch it as a play than read the play as a book ๐Ÿ™‚

    1. Oh pfft. I saw it was an adaptation, and assumed book. My bad!

      1. I read plays for fun, but that’s because I used to be a terrible bratty stage school kid so ‘imagine’ it being acted as I read. With me as the lead. Looking glam, natch.

  15. Alas, I don’t live in the UK, but I have to say polka dot blouse, great jacket + cute purse = really hoping this movie is available in the US!

  16. Have you seen Deep Blue Sea?
    Nope, not yet!
Are you planning to see it?
Yes. I am quite fascinated by how glam and young a high court judge’s wife looks in that film. I haven’t met any that look that hawt, but then again all the judges I have met are 900 and have white hair sprouting everywhere.
Have you read the book and is it any good?
Nope. I haven’t had time for any fun reading recently, only things for teaching. Anyone else? Is it worth it?

I’m planning on seeing it, hopefully next weekend. I’ve not read it, which is a bonus because I hate it when they turn books and plays into films – they invariably get things wrong and it annoys me.

Given the fact that cinema trips are a birthday treat I think its one for dvd for me although it sounds exactly like the sort of thing I’d like to watch.

  24. I would like to enter please! I’ve never heard of either the film or the play, but it does look good!

  25. Sadly, I have not even heard of this movie BUT am now dying to see it! I’d be interested to read the play (yes, read. I enjoy reading plays and movie scripts if for nothing else than to see what was omitted from the movie/play itself).

    1. Also, I cannot enter as I am not in UK. However, just wanted to comment that this movie looks awesome.

  26. Haven’t seen it yet but always up for a romantic love story set in wartime. Please count me in!

I have not seen Deep Blue Sea and have to admit until I read about it here I had not heard of it. Does look like the sort of thing I really enjoy.

I do not often read plays but love reading books and must say I am often disappointed when I see a book I have loved made into a film as I do find on the whole the film never live up to the book.
