A Christmas Eve Christmas Party Outfit Post

HAPPY CHRISTMAS EVE!

And Happy Christmas for tomorrow! Well, we avoided made up apocalypses and managed to get to Christmas Eve. Woo! Lucky us!

I *almost* have an operational kitchen in my house, and only 2 rooms out of 4 are so full of boxes I can’t get in them, so it’s all going swimmingly really. I plan to spend the rest of Christmas Eve compressing those boxes into the smallest space possible, followed by a long hot bath, some mulled wine and mince pies and probably crying at The Snow Man and the Snow Dog.

I shall leave you with my Christmas Party outfit I wore to the NIN  party at The Blue Skies Lounge on Friday. I actually bought the oriental satin Olivia dress from Pin Up Parade back in November (P.S. If you want to try and win one for yourself, check out door 10 on the Advent Calendar!), but this is the first time I’ve worn it and I absolutely love it (and all evening other people kept telling me they did as well!)

OUFIT

❤ Dress- Pin Up Parade ❤ Belt – ASOS ❤ Shoes – Red or Dead ❤

It felt like ages since I’d had a chance to get properly dressed up and go party, so I fingerwaved and curled my hair and even put on false eyelashes. I’m still wearing the same Revlon lashes I’ve had since 2009, so they last a long time! Regular readers might also notice my living room floor looking a little better than in it did last time I took an outfit photo in here!

CLOSE UP

I wore the dress with a leather Obi belt from ASOS and purple glittery peep toes that I’ve had forever from Red or Dead. Later on the shoes acquired some purple and orange feather shoe clips which were my NIN secret santa gift, handmade by the lovely Simon of Art Beat 64.

DETAIL

❤ Hair band – c/o Ji Ji Kiki  ❤ Earrings – Eclectic Eccentricity ❤

The hair band was a gift from Ji Ji Kiki (take a peek at door 19 on the advent calendar!) and the amazing art deco style earrings I bought from Eclectic Eccentricity at the Christmas Sip & Shop.

The evening contained many Manhattans, Christmas Jumpers, cupcakes and a pizza at midnight, so it’s probably for the best that I didn’t take my camera….

I hope you all have a wonderful, wonderful Christmas. I’m going to sign off with a cocktail recipe for you, just in case you’ve never had a Snowball before, get yourself off to the supermaket and snaffle some Advocaat.

2 measures Advocaat

1/4 measure of lime cordial

Lemonade to top up

Maraschino Cherry to garnish

snowball

You are looking lovely Gemma! Thanks for the cocktail recipe. We have most of a bottle of Advocaat left over from Hubby’s Dutch parents visiting and needed a new idea to get through the rest of it! Here’s one for you to try in return – my in-laws have it on ice cream!
