Todays prize in the Advent Giveaway is a rather lovely one! It’s a set of 4 greetings cards from Vintage Trudy.

The illustrations on the cards are by the Nanna of Twinkle, who runs the company. Her name was Trudy and she was born in Amsterdam. During WWII her Father joined the resistance movement and she spent much of her childhood in hiding, under an assumed name, sometimes with nothing more than  tulip bulbs to eat. At the age of 19 she came to England to study nursing, got married and stayed. The illustrations are from 1951-1952, when Trudy was building her new life in England, and are a reflection of the life she hoped lay ahead of her.
