Happy Valentines Day! An Outfit and Bo Nanafana

Much Love & Licks to all of you!

Love it or hate it this is for you as I like to spread as much love as I can (except to people who stop their trollies in front of me suddenly in the supermarket. No love to them)

This Saturday was the Bo Nanafana Valentines Event, with a West Side Story theme. I wasn’t really in the mood to go out, but I’m so glad I did as it was actually one of the best nights I’ve been to for ages.

I didn’t come up with anything West Side Story themed to wear, but I embraced the love vibes that were in the air by covering myself with as many red roses as possible.

❤ Dress - Lady K Loves ❤ Belt - Vintage ❤ Shoes - New Look ❤
❤ Stockings - WKD Back Seams ❤ Faux Fur Cape - eBay ❤
❤ Rose Hair Clip & Earrings - Abilu Creations ❤ Rose Brooch - Oasis circa 2001 ❤

I went for a 30s style wave in my hair and pinned it all up in the back. In the way of unplanned last minute outfits the world over nothing really matches, but I quite liked the finished effect anyway. The Lady K Loves dress is really quite 50s in style, but with no underskirt and a faux fur cape I think it went well enough. It’s not like I’m being tested on historical accuracy.

The Hot Boppin’ Girls were there, debuting their new Valentine themed act before jetting off to Rome to do a show today.

The Hot Boppin’ Girls are starting up Burlesque courses in Norwich and have a couple of taster sessions coming up at the end of February. For just £5 you get a glass of bubbly to quell your nerves and then they’ll help you learn a nice fun showgirl routine as a taster of the full 5 week course that starts in March. Details are all on the Norwich Burlesque Facebook Page

I actually took my proper camera with me, so I have a few photos of the evening. Once I’ve edited them all I’ll get them up on Facebook but here’s a sneak peek at a few.

I had a really fabulous evening, topped off by the fact that I met 2 people who told me they loved and read my blog. Spencer, who made the costumes for the Hot Boppin’ Girls act and Siofra.

I really love it when I meet people who say they read my blog as I still find it really hard to believe anyone actually has the slightest interest in my drivel! I think all my stats are made up of people who feel obliged to read it or accidentally wandered in while searching for something useful!

They were both lovely and I went home in a jolly good mood and treated myself to a cocktail and a late night caterwaul along to Rocky Horror Picture Show which was on TV.

All in all a perfect Saturday!
