What Are You Wearing? Rain, Rain, Go Away….

Well, what a Bank Holiday weekend!

Just over a week ago I was drinking Pimms by the river and now it’s all rain coats and sniffly colds. Though I’ve managed to avoid having to dig the black opaques back out of the cupboard so far.

❀ Dress & Trench - Vintage ❀ Feather Hair Comb- Abilu Creations ❀
 ❀ Shoes - Clarks via eBay ❀ Belt - Vintage ❀

I didn’t mind too much, as the weirdness of the weather this year, going straight from Arctic to Tropical temperatures, has meant I haven’t had much of a chance to wear “transitional” stuff, like my favourite trench, and dresses with sleeves.

The feather hair comb is from AbiLu Creations and was a (successful, if the gushing compliments of 2 women in Paperchase are anything to go by) attempt to add some interest to a boring pony tail as I just wanted to stop the wind covering my face with hair.

The shoes are about 2 weeks old (to me), they’re Clarks and they have prompted me to make myself a promise. Now I am in my *cough* thirties *cough* there are 2 things I will not skimp on. Shoes and underwear.

These are the first pair of shoes from Clarks I have owned since the whole “magic shoes” thing when I was a kid. They are, horror of horrors, COMFORTABLE! They have little padded bits in the soles. They are a revelation and I promise never to squidge my poor feet into ill fitting plastic shoes again (well, almost never, anyway)

Hopefully the weather is due to improve for this weekend (though a little bit of collective positive thinking wouldn’t go amiss…) but this weekend, when I had planned lazy days in the park, I was reduced toΒ  sheltering in a cafe from the rain, and eating obligatory cake.

I also saw a tiny sticky man on the ceiling of my local shopping centre, which made me very happy, so I thought you might like to see him too.

While I’m here I’m here I just want to thank my Twitter followers, and, most particularly, my Facebook Fans for joining in and helping me out with my mission to keep the lovely Melanie Armsden in the top 12 of the Pin Up for Heroes calendar. It looks like she made it, but I’ll let you know when the proper results are announced!

What did you do this Bank Holiday weekend?

I think the light makes my hair look brighter! It looks different every photo I post, I swear!

Also, I just commented on your blog about Ponds Cold Cream, because that’s what I use as a cleanser!

I love that hair comb! You look lovely as always.

I have yet to have my first Pimms of the year….I’m keeping fingers crossed for this weekend perhaps.

I’m so shcocked at how cold it’s gotten again! Your hair comb looks fantastic!

Loving your coat, it’s such an exquisite shade of pink. Very hard to find…
I have pretty much the same hair comb, mine is only a bit smaller.

Your post immediatly prompted me to scour ebayus-maximus for Clarks shoes. I could not find any similar (that style of shoes in a size 8 are my MISSION this month!) but did get some retro looking sandals. Most excellent! Yesterdays weather was EVIL! like October all over again. Boo hiss!! Cheering up now though :o)
We’ll all be whinging about the heat soon enough!

I fully intend to be whinging about the heat by the end of today.

We wouldn’t be British if we weren’t constantly talking about the weather.

Our weekend up here certainly sucked but Monday was lovely, we had a great afternoon at the beach which made up for the rain and chilliness.

Beautiful jewel tones in your outfit.

    Ha! Love the stick man!

  • I am so relieved the weather has gone all lovely again!
However that dress and coat are both really beautiful. πŸ™‚
