Friday Frock Love: My Vintage Valentine

Love it or hate it, Valentine’s Day is less than a week away.

This means, shops and magazines are full of things in pink and covered in hearts. I love Valentines Day for the same reason I love Christmas, Easter and Halloween. I love an excuse to shop, dress and eat to a theme and I don’t think it needs to be all about special “valentines menus” at chain restaurants, I’m just has happy to bake my morning eggs into a heart shape and watch something slushy on DVD.

The other thing I love about Valentines Day is an excuse to wear red and buy clothing decorated with hearts. Novelty prints were hugely popular in the 40s and 50s particularly, so you can find some amazing vintage frocks with a Valentines theme. For today’s Friday Frock Love I’ve picked out 4 of my favourite Valentine frocks on Etsy, and as long as it doesn’t get caught in customs you still *might* just get them in time for Valentines Day.

I agree! I think themes are super fun and the traditions, no matter how ridiculous, always brighten my day up a bit! šŸ˜‰
