Retro Chick Presents : How to Apply Mineral Foundation

Back in February when I published my first make up tutorials on my You Tube channel I said I’d do a more detailed video on applying foundation at a later date.

Well, as promised, here it is.

I use a mineral foundation and it seems a lot of people are unsure of how to apply it. I absolutely won’t use any other foundation now I’ve used this, I’m a bit of an evangelist for it! Last week I ran out and had to use some samples of a liquid foundation and my skin just felt and looked terrible. I was a very unhappy Retro Chick.

I won’t even go to the shops without foundation, but somehow you now get to see the scary site of me, make up free, splashed all over the internet on video. Please try not to cry….

The brand and shade I use is L’Oreal True Match Minerals Foundation C2 Rose Vanilla it costs around Ā£14 in Boots, but this Amazon seller has it for Ā£6.99. I haven’t bought from them yet, though at half price it might be worth a try. If anyone gets around to ordering from them before I get the chance then let me know how you get on!

The video also covers preparing your skin and some final tips at the end which will help you get a long lasting, flawless finish from your foundation.

Don’t forget you can subscribe to Retro Chick Presents on You Tube to get notified when new videos are added.

Enjoy and have a fabulous Easter Weekend….

I’ve been using mineral make up for about 4 years (Bare Escentuals) and the best part is that it doesn’t feel like I’m wearing anything on my face.. it’s just so comfortable and natural. Like you, I couldn’t cope with a liquid foundation ever again!

That’s what I think too, it’s much lighter.

Great post! I love my Bare Minerals Matte, and when I hear that others don’t like this type of foundation I partially think they must be putting it on incorrectly.

(BTW, my last post thing below is from several days ago and there are more recent posts!)

Well you look fabulous before and after. And it’s a great tutorial!

But sadly, I am the opposite. Having now tried the minerals, it’s just too cakey and drying for me (even with moisturiser!!) and comes off on EVERYTHING. Even with primer and setting with powder, I’ve tried all ways.

I think it’s just dependent on your skin type. I think I will stick to L’Oreal liquid true match foundation for now!

Everyones skin is different, I can see how it wouldn’t be great if you have dry skin!
